From the Heart: Why We Brought CBCT In-House

For a long time, I believed we didn’t need a CBCT machine inside our clinic.

After all:

  • The CBCT center was just 200 metres away.
  • We had a driver.
  • The reports were reliable.● Everything worked.

And honestly, the investment felt too big, especially when we already had a workaround.

But then my father said something that stopped me in my tracks:

“I don’t like going outside. If it can be done here, it should be done here.”

That hit me hard. Because if he felt that way, how many of our patients were feeling the

same, silently? That’s when everything shifted. Not because we wanted to “upgrade

technology.”

But because:

  • Every extra step matters.
  • Every external visit adds stress.
  • Every little inconvenience increases anxiety.

And in dentistry, our patients are already anxious.

Bringing CBCT into the clinic wasn’t about tech.

It was about reducing friction and increasing comfort — so care feels easier, calmer, and

continuous.

A Story That Could Have Been Different

Last July, a 40-year-old woman came to our clinic.

She wasn’t in pain. She didn’t know anything was wrong. She came in casually for a

check-up.

But as I examined her, the truth became clear: Severe bone loss. Almost every tooth was

mobile. It didn’t make sense for her age. I asked her to get her blood work done. That’s

when we discovered the real issue: She was highly diabetic, and she didn’t even know it.

By the time we caught it, saving her teeth wasn’t predictable. Implants were the only

option. She was overwhelmed, emotionally, financially, medically.

She told us honestly: Money was tight.

So we didn’t rush.

  • She saved steadily for 6–7 months.
  • We offered EMIs.
  • We planned everything meticulously — lowering costs where possible, without

compromising what would last her for decades.

The day we delivered her new teeth was full of quiet emotion.

Because this wasn’t just about teeth.

It was about dignity, identity, and confidence.

“I can finally go out without a mask. I can speak, laugh, and show up fully again. Been ages, I haven’t felt like myself.

A Thank You That Deserves To Be Said Out Loud

This month, we’re spotlighting Ishu.

If our clinic feels calm and organized, it’s because of people like her.

She runs the systems behind the scenes:

  • Paperwork.
  • Coordination.
  • Admin tasks.
  • Follow-ups.

The invisible, essential work that keeps things moving.

She brings structure, accountability, and consistency to our team and our patients feel the

difference.

It also happened to be her birthday this month.

So, Ishu – this one’s for you:

Thank you for showing up, owning your work, and quietly adding value that matters every

single day

“But Doctor… Nothing’s Hurting?”

“Do I really need to come in for regular check-ups?”

Here’s the truth:

Pain is usually the last sign something’s wrong – not the first.

Issues like:

  • Gum disease
  • Bone loss
  • Bite misalignment
  • Even undiagnosed medical conditions like diabetes

…often progress silently.

By the time pain arrives, the damage is already done.

That’s why we’re so insistent on recall visits.

They’re not about “finding something wrong.”

They’re about catching issues early, when treatment is simpler, gentler, and more

affordable.

One Gentle Thought Before You Go

That patient’s journey? It didn’t start as a “big case.”

It started as something small.

Ignored.

Over time, it snowballed.

If you take one thing away from this note, let it be this:

Please don’t wait for pain.

Please don’t skip your recall visits.

Sometimes, one timely check-up can change the entire story.
